(I just realized no one ever goes to school lol)
*i wake up at 5 am sighing today is the first day of school since Christmas break getting all the kids up at 6 am will be fun "yay me" I say sarcastically

gets the cereal boxes out and milk "they can have cereal this morning" looks at the time 5:55am I start to go to each child's room to wake them up Time to get up and get ready for school

*already up, come inside from the barn*

"I don't want to go to school."

*gets up and goes to see Jenny* "Come on Jenny let's get ready."

"Fine." *get dressed and go downstairs*

"Okay, I'm up. I'll go get Amber up so that she can spent some time with me before I leave." *planning on Amber not going to school, as she never has before*

Jackson she's going too she 5 she starts kindergarten today

"But, she's never been to school before. She's not emotionally ready for it. She'll be too scared."

Gets up and Wakes ally up then goes and wake niya and Miya up we all get ready and go downstairs

Well Jackson she's in the same class as aamiya and aaniya and ally and bri is in first grade so they are right across the hall from them so she has people with her

All of them will be in the same building you will be in the middle school building your 11 so you are in 6th grade they will just be in the elementary building

"Well, I guess it might not be any scarier then her staying in her room all day, hoping that Mama ignores her, but I was looking forward to me going to school and us not being scared. Can I come with to drop her off, before I go to school?"

Well you start school at 8:30 she starts at 9 so if u did that you would be late

*sign* "I am going to hold you to that." *goes into Amber's room, gets her up, takes her to bathroom, brings her back to her room, dresses her, wish that she had something other then my old clothes to wear to school, brush her hair, sits down with her* "Amber, would you like to go to school?"

"I-I don't know." *remember him explaining what school was by saying that it was where kids went to learn things with other kids* "Am I smart enough to go to school?"

*I told her, the other day, that I lied about her being stupid and helpless, but I don't think she fully believes me, and I don't even know if she's smart because I've never given her a chance to find out* "I think so."

"Can I really go to school with you?"
Jackson
"Actually, little kids go to a different school then big kids. The other girls will be with you, and of course Horise." *look at Horise, and Amber, and at the clothes she's wearing, and fear how the other children will react to her*

*I-I don't think so. I scared."
Jackson
"I am too." "*kiss her on her forehead* "I'll be right back." *stomp over to Ms. China* "Please don't make her. The other children are going to tease her for sure, or worse*

She is going Jackson she will be fine all little kids are scared their first day of school but when they get there then tend to like it so it will be fine
Looks at watch*
It's 8:15 so you should go ahead and get going
Looks out the window I see the bus pulling up go ahead and go
I'll pick you up though so don't ride the bus back I'll be there to pick you up

*go downstairs and have breakfast*

*grabs my keys and purse starts the car up with the button on the keys* then realizes what Amber has on* Amber why do you have that on? Did you look in your closet? You have a closet full of new clothes that I got you here *gives her a blue shirt that has sparkles on it and a pair of jeans* put that on real fast *she puts it on*
Okay every body got book bags coats and shoes on? Looks to make sure they do*
Ok get in the car *walks to the car making sure every one gets in and buckled up*
*starts to drive to the school gets there about 8 minutes later* okay here y'all go Amber you gonna be in class with aaniya and Aamiya ally and bri are in first so they are right across the hall from you so you have friends in there with you ok

*I look at the clothes she hands me, and then look down at the clothes that Jackson dressed me in today. I am wearing a plaid shirt, which goes down to my knees and rolls up at the sleeves, baggy jeans, rolled up at the ankles and held on by a belt, brownish white socks, old sneakers, which wobble on my feet when I walk, and a brown coat with sleeves that go past my hands. The coat and one of the shoes are the only things that have any holes in them. I look at Ms. China, confused and hurt.*

*looks down at my pooh-t-shirt and plain jeans, which are lose fitting, but not nearly as lose as Amber's clothes*

Okay well I'm sorry Amber but you will not be wearing Jacksons clothes anymore I bought you a closet full of stuff just for you you have your own stuff now. *looks at the other kids still sitting in the car "you all can go ahead in i will help get Amber Situated and have a good day guys Ill see you guys a little bit later

okay Amber I'm going to take you home and you are going to put your own clothes on. *buckles Amber In and takes her back to the house*
*unbuckled her and carries her in to the house and takes her in my room hands her her own clothes*
Okay Amber ok going to show you how to get dressed because I don't think you know how to.
We will start with the shirt.
Take Jacksons shirt off then put this on it's really easy

*fiddle with the button on the shirt, trying to remember how I've seen Jackson do it, eventually manage to get the first one undone, and then move on to the next one*

*eventually manage to get all of the buttons undone, pause, to remember what Jackson does next, and then start to roll down the sleeves*

*hold my arm out, so Jackson can pull the sleeves out, look around, remember he's not here, remember that he has me bend my arm to get the first sleeve out, do so, and struggle but eventually manage to get the firs sleeve off*

Okay that's good now get the other one out

*move Horsie to my other arm, pull second sleeve off fairly easily, look down at belts holding pants up, pull end out of belt loops, stare at buckle wondering how to undo it*

The belt all you do is take it out the loop then pull it out the buckle then just pull it out the pants

*listen to Ms. China, and try to remember how Jackson does it every time that I need to go to the bathroom* *eventually pull the belt out of the buckle, and pull the buckle out, pull pants down, without undoing the button or zipper, and start unrolling pant legs*

"Jackson never undo's the button and zipper." *not realizing that that was only because she'd only worn pants that were so big that they didn't need to be undo to put on*

Ok that's because they are too big for you so you don't need to but I was just telling you so you could know that's something you gotta do when the clothes fit but don't worry about it just go ahead and step out your those pants

*sits down, unrolls pant legs, pull them off*

Okay so now you have those clothes off now you can start to dress yourself start with your shirt *the big whole is wear you put your your head in and the other 2 is for your arms

*sits down cross legged, set Horsie in lap, pull shirt over head, looks down at arms hanging out, looks up at Ms. China, wondering what to do now*

Put your your arms in the whole then pull it down

*put arm through shirt, try to get it through the sleeve, but cant find the sleeve*

Look points to the sleeve put your arm through here

*struggle, and get it through*

Ok now put your other arm through and pull it down

*pull other arm through sleeve, thinking that this feels tight, not thinking about the fact that I'm used to really lose clothing*

Ok these pants are easy to jus put your legs through the whole pull them up then button and zip

*grab Horsie and stands up, steps into pants, look at zipper, wondering how to do it*

Just grab the zipper and pull up on it

*pulls zipper up in short burst, looks at button and buttons it up*

See you got dressed by yourself

See you are smart enough to learn things for yourself you just learn to dress your self

Now go look in the closet you will see all your new clothes and shoes and everything it's super full

*rush to the closet, which I had seen that there was something in but had not actually looked inside, and open the door to find on almost overwhelming amount of stuff in there, stare at it in aw and excitement, and then wonder how I could possibly deserve this*

Because Amber you are a person you are somebody and every person deserves love nobody should have to go through life without people who love them. I love you and Jackson I look at you two and just see special and amazing kids. You just need love. You both are super special to me

"My grandfather died, and she had to find a job."

"I don't know. I've never met him. I asked my grandpa who he was once, and he said that he was a bad man and that he'd tell me more when I was older. Then he died before he did, and he had also told me that I wasn't allowed to ask my mom ever, so I guess I'll never know. Although, I'm not sure if I really want to. What happened to your Dad?"

"He died a few years ago."

"I'm sorry, what brought your to Ms. China's house."
Jackson
"My mom stopped taking care of me and Amber after our mother and big brother died, and some neighbors eventually got suspicious and called a social worker over to investigate, who decided that we could not live with our mother anymore, even though I was handling things perfectly well."

"Adults are annoying sometimes."

"Yes they are."

I think mommy just took her home she probably was being too much of a baby to put on the clothes mom gave her this morning I mean why would she even want to wear dirty nasty to big clothes anyway she should be happy that she has clean nice looking clothes now

Yeah that's true I wouldn't want to be in big boy clothes that stinks I mean I would be happy and feel lucky to have clothes that fit me if I ever get the chance and mommy is giving her the chance to have a good life but she's not taking it she's just....,
I don't know she's just being stupid and following Jackson's orders....
it's really weird to see a sister do exactly what their brother says because they're just brothers and sister and I mean I don't do everything you guys say and you guys are my sisters so why does Amber do everything Jackson say? that's just her brother it's not her like dad or anything
I don't think she thinks we notice but we do we notice a lot of things were not dumb....
Anyway let's go outside and wait for Mom to pulled up so we can go home
*we all walk outside to the front of the school waiting for mom to pull up we just stand there and talk about our day at school *

Hi kids I missed you how was school?
As soon as all kids are in and the ones that have car seats are in their seats and buckled and the door is closed I drive to Jackson school and sit in front waiting for the older kids to come out in about 10 more minutes
