Alision
*roll in my sleep, nervous and scared*
Andrew
*wake up, sensing Mommy's fear, cry*
Alison
*wake up, tears in my eyes, get up, go to him, pick him up*
-
Dallas would go on walks around the house when he felt like he needed to clear his head. It was also good to get to know his way around the place. He looked for places where he could have time to himself. As he was walking around, he hears the cries of a child. The boy knocks on a door.
"Hello?" Dallas used a gentle tone in his voice.
-
Alison
*holding Andrew, walk closer to the door so I don't have to shout* "Um... hello."
Andrew
*start to calm down*
-
"Are... Are you two okay?" He asked, still carrying a gentle tone.
-
Alison
*open the door a crack, and speak sadly and softly* "I hope so." *pause* "I don't know. I had a nightmare. Andrew woke me up, but he doesn't seem to need anything so I think I might have woken him up first."
-
"Oh," he said softly. "Well... Um... If you ever feel like you need someone to hear you out, I'm here."
-
Alison
*she thought, for a moment* "Would you like to come in?"
-
"Sure," he said. Dallas gave his usual small smile.
-
Alison
*opening the door to let him in, Alison gave him a small smile back*
-
Dallas walked in.
"How long have you been having these dreams for?"
-
Alison
*let him in and then close the door* "Almost a week. They started a few days after Andrew was born."
-
"Has it been ever night or just every once in awhile?"
-
"Almost every night. My baby keeps getting scared because of it, and I can't make them go away, and I don't know what to do."
-
So Andrew was hers. Dallas wasn't quite sure whether he was or not. He also wasn't quite sure of her name as Dallas didn't talk to her much.
"Do you, um, remember what they're about?"
-
"Yeah, but um..., you probably don't want me to tell you."
-
He smiled gently once again.
"Try me. If it makes you feel better then I'll try to handle it as much as I can."
-
*she breathed deeply, looking at him with gratitude* "They always start with some way that my mother or brother has been mean to me in the past. They always end the same, with when my father murdered them both."
-
Dallas, trying to keep his composure, unconsciously blinked his eyes multiple times. Once he realized, he stopped blinking so much. Dallas waited for Alison to continue.
-
*on the borderline of tears* "I try not to think about it, but it keeps repeating itself every night."
-
Gently resting his hand on her shoulder, Dallas tries to comfort Alison and gives a smile.
-
Hears all this talking so I come in the room
What's going on?
-
Alison
*stops crying, smiles back at Dallas slightly, hear Ms. China come in and look toward her* "I had the same nightmare again. Dallas heard me and Andrew and came in to check on us."
-
Okay. Dallas you can go back to bed. Allision are you okay now?
-
Alison
"Thanks Dallas." *look to Ms. China* "I think so, but umm... How do get the nightmares to stop? They're negativity affecting Andrew."
-
There is no way to make nightmares stop unless you just stop thinking about the situation
-
Alison
"How do I do that?"
-
I don't know you just got to just accept the fact that the bad things happend know you couldn't do anything about it and just let it go. That's the only way
-
"But, I can't just forget about my family."
-
I mean do you want to stop having nightmares or not? I'm not saying for get about your family I'm just talking about the bad stuff that happened
-
"Yes. I do, but thinking about them reminds me."
-
Well I don't know what to tell you
-
Dallas was a bit disappointed that he had to go out of the room. He stood up and walked out but instead of leaving completely, he made sure that they didn't know that he was still there and listened in on their conversation. Due to some of the previous homes Dallas lived in, he had learnt how to keep as quiet as possible so that he could go undetected.
-
*start crying again*
-
Hearing Alison cry tug at Dallas's heartstrings in a painful manner. He sat down against the wall, pulling his knees up close to his face. The thoughts that haunted him the most every single day came rushing to Dallas as he remembered waking up to the sound of cicadas, the fragrance of pines trees and freshly cut wood mixed with the vague smell of liquor, the sun shining brightly like a dream through the windows as the wind blew the white curtains gently. Dallas let out a quiet sigh. He remembers them as clear as clear water, every single bit of it.
-
Andrew
*start crying, because Mommy's upset*
Alison
*know why he's crying, and try to stop*
-
Just knows Dallas is still out there Dallas go to bed!
Allision you just gonna have to stop thinking about it
-
Alison
*can't keeping trying to stop anymore* "but I want Andrew"
Andrew
*start crying harder*
-
Well I don't know what to tell you really
-
Andrew
*keep crying*
Alison
"I'm sorry I'm such a bad mother, Andrew."
-
Dude stop telling him that.
-
Alison
"But it's the truth, and I feel horrible for it."
Andrew
*still crying*
-
Kevin
*wake up, go to check on them, but see that Ms. China is already taking care of it, go back to bed*
Jackson
*get up, stomp over to Alison room, angry* "Shut up!"
-
Looks at Jackson* Jackson don't come in here being rude please
-
Jackson
"They're the ones being rude, making so much noise in the middle of the night."
-
Well you could politely ask them to be quiet
-
Alison
*manage to stop crying, focus on Andrew*
Andrew
*crying slowly dies down*
-
Go to sleep Jackson
-
Jackson
*go back to bed, not saying anything*
Alison
*look at Ms. China, sadly*
-
I'm going to take Andrew in to my room and let him sleep peacefully for tonight if you can not control your self when you are upset around him he gets upset because you upset
-
Alison
*don't give him to her, speak sadly* "I know. That's why I think I'm a bad Mom."
-
And if you keep saying that he will be in my room too
Now start controlling your emotions Around him
-
Alison
*confused by the he will be in her room part because she already said that*
-
So I'm saying if you don't stop saying you a bad mom and start controlling your emotions around him
He will start sleeping in my room instead of in here with you he deserves a good nights sleep
-
Alison
"How am I not a bad mom, when I can't even control myself around him?"
-
You better start learning too. And this will not be an argument about why this and why that you better just start learning to control your emotions around him okay
-
Alison
"Okay." *really sad because I want my baby with me* "Where will he sleep in your room?" *keeping a hold of him*
-
I'm gonna take his crib in my room and he will sleep in there
-
Alison
"Please don't take him away."
-
The. Start controlling your emotions and I'm not taking him away he is just gonna sleep in my room because you wake him up at night don't try to make it seem like I'm just taking him from you completely
-
*stay quite, look at his crib, wait for her to move it*
-
I'm not gonna take him right now only if it keeps on happening go ahead and try to go back to sleep
-
Dallas didn't move when Ms.China asked him to. He just listened and watched as those who were up came by and went away.
-
Alison
"Okay. Goodnight." *put him back in his crib, and get in bed, wonder if I'll be able to get back to sleep*
-
Goodnight.
-
Andrew
*fall asleep*
Alison
*lay in bed, awake*
-
Dallas hears the conversation end and gets up, silently rushing down the hallway to his room.
-
Sees Dallas rushing down the hallway *i grab him and give him one swat hard enough to get my point across*
I asked you twice to go in your room you didn't listen either time I can tell when you are sitting there listening I have a lot of kids in this house I know all the tricks y'all try to pull. Now goodnight *i take him to his room and put him in his bed*
Go back to sleep please
-
Dallas was shocked. The idea of this being a "safe place" left him completely, he didn't trust anyone that hit another person. And even more, he thought the reason was silly.
"Don't even touch me." Dallas became hostile.
-
Well listen next time if you do something bad around here you get spanked. And that was only one so you lucky. Goodnight
-
Dallas waited for Ms.China to leave the room. Once she did and the door was shut, he threw a pillow at the door.
-
Alison
*hears what sounds like a slap, and Dallas say something sounding upset, once I hear Ms. China go back to bed I get up and go to Dallas's room and knock on the door*
-
Dallas hears a knock at the door. He quickly rushes over to grab the pillow and throws it back on the bed. Then, grabbing the handled gently as his hands shook, Dallas open the door slightly. Light flooded in through the crack.
"Yes?" He asked with a concerned look, thinking it was Ms.China.
Dallas was worried that she had heard him throw the pillow. The boy was relieved to see that it was Alison at the door. He smiled and opened it a bit more so that it wouldn't seem like he was closing himself off to her.
"How can I help you?" Dallas put on a gentle smile but it was obvious that he was concerned.
-
Alison
*concerned* "Um... are you okay?"
-
"It's... Nothing too much to worry about. Thanks for worrying about me."
-
"Thanks for worrying about me." *go back to bed*
-
"Good night." Dallas watched Alison leave before closing the door, the lights shining through the cracks of the door slowly growing smaller. Hearing the click of the door, Dallas let out a sigh and hoped into bed.
-
Allision go back to bed good night
-
Allison
*go back to my room, check on Andrew, go to bed*
