Dallas notices the markings on Amber's body and he feels a sudden pain in his chest. It was hurtful to see them. An angered expression spreads across the boys face. To an outsider, one would not believe that a person could do such a thing to a child. Dallas was not one of those people, as he remembered some of the experiences he's had in previous homes.
"Just call out if you need anything. In general." He wants Jackson to know that he's there when he needs help.
As the boy goes to leave, Marcello comes in. Instantly noticing that Dallas looks upset and angered, he stops him by putting his hand on the boy's shoulder.
"You good, kid?" The man asked.
"I'm fine." The boy responded.
Dallas took a moment before looking up at Marcello with a pained expression. Marcello looked over at Amber, also noticing the markings, then looked back.
"Don't worry. She's in better hands now." Marcello ruffled the boy's hair, giving him a gentle smile. "Go to your room and be easy on yourself, okay?"
Attempting, Dallas put on a smile, still looking pained.
"Okay." And off he went to his room.
Marcello walked into the kitchen properly, stopping at a good distance away from the kids.
"Hey, kid, the kitchen sink probably isn't the best place for a wash." Marcello gives a gentle and concerned smile.
